Smart grid construction is a systematic project and long-term work involving all aspects of society. Since Tsinghua University put forward the concept of "digital power system" in 1999 and unveiled the prelude to my country's digital grid research work, my country has made many achievements in the field of smart grids. In the future development of smart grid, from the perspective of the technical route, I think it should include the following nine aspects:

The first is to strengthen the research on theories and methods of smart grid planning. With the changes in the load distribution, power distribution and power flow of the traditional power grid, the original planning method cannot adapt to the system planning requirements in the new environment. It is necessary to further strengthen the research on smart grid planning theories and methods;

The second is to propose a unified standard and model. This is the key to the success of the smart grid. To build a smart grid, it is first necessary to adopt a unified data model, a unified transmission and exchange protocol, and a unified network to establish an efficient, interoperable, centralized and coordinated power system information architecture. Therefore, my country should organize the formulation of technical standards as soon as possible, and propose a standard system structure for China's smart grid;

The third is to study energy storage technology. Develop, research and apply energy storage technology to realize the regulation of the storage of surplus electric energy and the release of electric energy for power supply, transform a large amount of uncontrollable clean energy into stable, reliable, and controllable energy, and maximize the consumption of clean energy;

The fourth is to build an intelligent dispatch system. With the intelligent development of the power grid, it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on grid-connected operation control technologies such as new energy, distributed energy, microgrid, energy storage, and demand-side response models, and combine the advancement of scientific and technological information technology to establish advanced, safe, and Reliable intelligent dispatching system to improve the safe and stable operation level and operation efficiency of the power grid;

The fifth is to promote new energy and clean coal power generation technologies. Focus on the research of advanced new energy power generation core control technology, so that the new energy power station has the ability to support the operation of the power grid while providing high-quality power to the power grid, and realizes friendly interaction with the power grid;

The sixth is to improve the construction of smart equipment technology and smart substations. Starting from the overall plan of the smart grid, the construction of smart substations shall be carried out step by step. Formulate corresponding standards and specifications to standardize the construction of smart substations and the research and development of related smart devices;

Seven is to accelerate the construction of smart distribution network. As a key link to improve the overall performance and efficiency of the power grid, the grid structure of the distribution network and the automation and information construction of the distribution network should be strengthened to support the flexible and reliable access of distributed power sources, microgrids and energy storage devices to improve the distribution network Performance, improve power quality, and ensure power supply reliability;

The eighth is to develop interactive and intelligent electricity use. Implement dynamic electricity price management to guide users to use electricity reasonably. Let users participate in the interaction of supply and demand, achieve large-scale peak reduction and valley filling, reduce system reserve capacity, and ensure smooth power output and safe and reliable operation of the system. At the same time, guide and encourage users to develop and utilize distributed power sources and new energy sources, support users' surplus electricity to go online, and solve energy supply problems from the user side;

Nine is to promote the development of electric vehicles. On the one hand, we will improve the charging and discharging infrastructure network for electric vehicles through the construction of smart grids, as well as the reasonable layout of electric vehicle charging and discharging stations. On the other hand, promoting electric vehicles to become a mobile, distributed energy storage unit in the grid can effectively reduce the peak-to-valley difference of the grid and the traditional peak shaving standby power generation capacity, and improve the utilization efficiency of the grid.
